Unlike wedding or hobby photographers, a reputable corporate photographer understands the nuances of his particular niche and has invested a huge amount of resources toward the acquisition of suitable gear and training. Of course, as the subject of the photo shoot, you can help your photographer achieve better results. Check out the following things to remember to get perfect head shots.

- Choose the right outfit. Although your face is the primary focus of the photo shoot, do not ever think that you can wear just anything that you desire. The right type of clothing can help you convey the right message and boost your confidence. In contrast, the wrong wardrobe can take the viewer's attention away from your face. To a great extent, the type of clothing you wear should convey your organisation's culture. If you want to appear business-like, then opt for formal business attire. On the other hand, if your company wants to exude a casual vibe, opt for a smart casual look. Men should wear darker suits and light coloured shirts paired with a dark tie while women are advised to wear a light coloured blouse paired with a solid suit.

- Prepare yourself with the right haircut and make-up. Women should put on makeup the same way that they do for a formal party. Ideally, they should also bring hair care products with them during the photo shoot. Men, on the other hand, should shave early in the morning. However, if you are heavy-bearded, it is advisable to shave at a later time to avoid the five o'clock shadow. For both sexes, it is better to get a haircut days prior to the photo shoot. If you wear glasses, your photographer may allow you to wear these if it is an integral part of your professional look. However, do note that glasses may cause reflections. If you have a spare frame with no lenses, consider bringing it to the shoot.
